Post #11 The Full Moon of April

Honoring the pink blossoms that appear during this time, the Pink Moon will make its brightest and largest appearance on Tuesday April 23, 2024. Like the Worm Moon of March, this April full moon announces the return of a natural event. Cherry blossoms, flowering dogwoods and Magnolias can be seen heralding the incoming spring.

The Pink Moon (Farmer’s almanac) is also known as the Breaking Ice Moon (Algonquin), Pesach or Passover Moon (Judaism), Moon When the Ducks Come Back (Lakota), Bak Poya (Buddhism), and Moon of Plants and Shrubs (Tlingit).

Symbolically, a full moon can represent completion and a time to reflect on the past month. It can offer a moment in time to reestablish goals and commitments. Perhaps providing a little space and breathing room to reevaluate what is working and not working in our lives.

Regardless of what we call the full moon or what we believe it represents, try to take just sixty seconds out of your day to stop, breathe, and look up. The promise of nature’s beauty surrounds us all.
