#66 Before the Champagne

Two champagne glasses toasting against golden sparkling lights
For the past few weeks, since Thanksgiving, we have been focusing on being grateful for the things we have in our lives instead of focusing on the things that are missing. Traditional Chinese medicine points out that stress is created by getting the things we don’t want and not getting the things we do. When our daily objective is being thankful stress is reduced and when stress is reduced there is more to be thankful for. This tidy little equation is the jumping off point for the next step in expanding our appreciation for the life we created. We can now broaden our scope of gratitude to include our new year’s resolution. By keeping it simple, to only one, our ability to manifest that one goal greatly increases. Instead of diluting our efforts with a laundry list of things we wish and hope will happen in the New Year, we concentrate our efforts and pinpoint what is most important. Choose a goal that fully supports your desire for success. One that empowers you and facilitates your journey towards the next goal in creating the life you want. Success can be in any area so be creative and be courageous. If your resolution seems a bit overwhelming breaking it down into steps is always helpful. There is a Chinese proverb that states “It is possible to move a mountain by carrying away small stones”. Regardless of how large or impossible your intention may seem, by taking one small step at a time you will eventually complete your task. Choose a resolution that you will succeed at and that challenges you to stretch beyond your comfort zone. Be determined to succeed and succeed you will. It is just a matter of time. Here’s to the Health of your Life.
