EXPERIENCE AND PROFESSIONALISM
In 1998, after graduating Summa cum laude from the Academy of Chinese Healing Arts in Sarasota, Florida, I opened a private practice. It was there in Clearwater, Florida that I began helping people take positive steps toward their overall health and wellbeing.
In 2005, I moved to the Great Barrington area, opened another office and continued helping people reach their optimal health. During the last 20 years, in addition to my private practice, I have designed Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment options for smoking cessation classes at Fairview Hospital, offered general health and wellness treatments to the faculty at Monument Valley Regional Middle School, and began the Great Barrington Community Acupuncture Clinic.
In 2008 I started the acupuncture clinic at Volunteers in Medicine, Great Barrington and was the first practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine to work with their Western Medicine healthcare providers. I am nationally board certified in Oriental Medicine and hold state licenses in Florida, New Jersey and Massachusetts.
My articles on health and wellness have been featured in the Berkshire Record’s Health section since 2013.
I am inspired by my relationships with my grandparents. Each, in their own way, taught me the importance of being healthy. They valued the natural order of things and believed that the body’s inherent desire for a healthful life was to be nurtured, supported and strengthened.
I acknowledge all my professors who have contributed to the body of knowledge that I draw from and am able to pass on to everyone I meet. In particular, George Bates. Under his tutelage I learned that life is an art and though interpretations of how to live may differ, the desire to create a meaningful existence unifies us all.
